Halloween is Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026. Brookhaven’s biggest costume night this year is Thursday, Oct. 29, when HAVEN on Dresden Drive holds its Halloween Bash. Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church has a free movie night on Saturday, Oct. 24, and the farmers market closes its season on Halloween morning.

Halloween night out: HAVEN’s Halloween Bash

Thursday, Oct. 29, 6 to 10 p.m. HAVEN Restaurant and Bar, 1441 Dresden Drive, holds its annual Halloween Bash with live music from Two Man Group, an all-you-can-eat cookout buffet, beer and wine and a costume contest whose two winners each get a $150 gift card. Tickets are $50; Halloween cocktails and the full bar cost extra. Costumes are “strongly encouraged,” according to HAVEN’s event page.

Family movie night at Oglethorpe Presbyterian

Saturday, Oct. 24, 6 to 8:30 p.m. Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church, 3016 Lanier Drive, holds Hunger is Scary, a free evening with two movie showings and a service project packing treat bags. “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” starts at 6 p.m. and “Monsters & Minions” at about 7 p.m., with the treat bag project at 6:30 p.m. It is free, but the church asks for an RSVP, according to its events page.

Past this year: the Glow Run and the International Festival

The Brookhaven Police Department’s Hot Pursuit 5K Glow Run ran at Murphey Candler Park on Saturday, Oct. 10. The city’s fourth International Festival ran at Brookhaven Park on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 17-18.

Still to come: Paint the Park

Paint the Park, Saturday, Nov. 7, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Rained out on Oct. 4, the city’s outdoor painting day moves to Lynwood Park, 3360 Osborne Road. Canvases and supplies are first come, first served, King of Pops and face painting are on hand, and prizes go to the best work in three age groups (7 and under, 8-13 and 14 and up), according to the city’s notice.

Halloween morning at the farmers market

The Brookhaven Farmers Market runs Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon, rain or shine, at 1375 Fernwood Circle. Its 2026 season ends on Saturday, Oct. 31, according to the market’s website, so Halloween morning is the last chance to shop it until spring. The market lists a Christmas Market for Dec. 5-6.
