State report card
Montgomery Elementary’s 2025 CCRPI single score was 91.6, according to the state’s School Grades data. The Georgia average for elementary schools was 78.6 and the DeKalb County School District’s was 73.3. The school scored 89.1 in 2023 and 98.8 in 2024; a single school’s score can move several points from one year to the next. The full report card is on the state’s Montgomery Elementary report card.
CCRPI is the Georgia Department of Education’s “comprehensive school improvement, accountability, and communication platform,” according to GaDOE. The single score runs from 0 to 100 and is built from content mastery, progress, closing gaps and readiness, plus graduation rate for high schools. Georgia does not publish an A-to-F letter grade for schools in its 2025 data.
Georgia Milestones end-of-grade tests, 2025, share of tested students at each of the two top levels:
| Subject | Proficient | Distinguished |
|---|---|---|
| English language arts | 42.0% | 28.1% |
| Math | 44.1% | 28.8% |
| Science | 47.1% | 21.8% |
The same data put 75.2% of third graders and 82.4% of fifth graders reading at or above grade level.
Attendance zone
Zones are set by the district and do not follow city limits. Check any address with the district’s school locator, which shows the 2026-27 elementary, middle and high school zones. Laying the district’s zone map over the Census Bureau’s city boundary, Montgomery’s zone is the largest in Brookhaven, about 40% of the city’s land, across the north of the city; about four-fifths of the zone is inside Brookhaven.
Under the district’s cluster feeder patterns, Montgomery feeds Chamblee Middle School, 3601 Sexton Woods Drive, Chamblee, and then Chamblee High. Ashford Park and Huntley Hills elementary schools feed the same middle school.
Rezoning under study: the Chamblee cluster is one of six in the district’s Fall 2026 Student Assignment Project, which is redrawing zones for overcrowded schools before new and expanded buildings open from 2027 to 2029. The district has published three elementary zone options and an options locator that shows which school an address would get under each one. It says no recommendations have been made, and the Board of Education will consider them in December 2026. No rezoning affecting Montgomery Elementary has been approved.
