DeKalb County School District’s spring break is Monday, April 5, to Friday, April 9, 2027, on the district’s 2026-27 calendar. Easter Sunday is the week before, on March 28. Brookhaven’s big spring event, the Cherry Blossom Festival, comes earlier: March 20-21, free, per the city’s festival page; it was held at Blackburn Park in 2026. Private schools set their own dates; check with yours.

Spring break camps

The city lists its camps and classes in the Parks and Recreation catalog. Spring break 2027 programs had not been posted as of Oct. 5. The city’s youth athletics groups, including Murphey Candler baseball and girls softball, run their own seasons; see the city’s youth athletics page.

Parks to fill a week

  • Brookhaven Park, 4158 Peachtree Road: what Explore Brookhaven, the city’s convention and visitors bureau, calls the tallest playground in the United States, a turf play area, a community garden and a fenced dog park. Open dawn to dusk.
  • Murphey Candler Park, 1551 West Nancy Creek Drive: 135 acres with a lake, trails, playground, ball fields and picnic shelters, per the city’s property list.
  • Blackburn Park, 3493 Ashford Dunwoody Road: 50 acres with fields, playgrounds, a paved trail and the tennis center.
  • Peachtree Creek Greenway: a paved path along the North Fork of Peachtree Creek with free parking at 2036 N. Druid Hills Road, 1801 Corporate Blvd. and 1793 Briarwood Road, per the city’s greenway listing.

  • Brookhaven Farmers Market, 1375 Fernwood Circle: the 2026 season opened March 28 and runs Saturdays 9 a.m. to noon, per the market’s website. The 2027 opening date was not out on Oct. 5.
