The places

Brooklyn Bagel and Deli on Ashford Dunwoody Road describes itself as a bagel bakery specializing in kettle-boiled bagels, with New York-style deli sandwiches and hoagies at lunch.

Cafe Vendome in Parkside on Dresden calls itself an authentic French bakery and cafe. It bakes croissants, baguettes and pastries fresh every day, with no preservatives, and serves quiche, croque-monsieur and espresso drinks. It takes table bookings for groups of 10 or more with a day’s notice.

Crumbl Cookies at Town Brookhaven bakes cookies for pickup and delivery. It opens at 8 a.m. and stays open until midnight on Friday and Saturday.

Smallcakes on Briarcliff Road is a cupcakery that bakes made-from-scratch cupcakes fresh every day. It also bakes specialty and birthday cakes and caters events, its site says.

Sucre on Peachtree Road is a sweet boutique with stores in New Orleans, Atlanta and Houston. It sells handcrafted macarons, cakes, pastries and confections.
